Another year of Zentangle fun at SGSCC…

Thanks everyone for coming along this year. Zentangle really does bring together a lovely group of people. (This photo was taken in week 2 – sorry to those people who were away or had to leave early and missed out on the photo)

Hope you all enjoy the holiday season and New Year celebrations and I’m looking forward to next year!

Zentangle 4 Week Class

Just finished the classes for Term 1 at St George & Sutherland Community College.

We had so much fun creating together. We explored many different patterns and their variations. I felt that everyone really relaxed and allowed their creativity to flow. On the first day we focused on heart shapes for Valentine’s Day and on the last day we created organic shapes which reminded us of nature. We also added water colour on the last day which was a lot of fun.

Thank you so much – it was a really enjoyable term and I’m so looking forward to next term!

Next 4 Week Class starts at St George & Sutherland Community College on Monday 9th May 2022. (9.30am to 12.30am).

If you’d like to join us please contact the College directly and if you’ve never done Zentangle before, then sign up to the Introduction to Zentangle (3 hours) on Monday 2nd May 2022 (9.30am to 12.30am)

Last workshop for the year

The last 4 week class for 2020 has just ended. Thank you so much to all the lovely people who joined me at St George & Sutherland Community College. Everyone made some beautiful pieces of art. I’m loving the journey and seeing everyone’s creative growth.

This year 2020 has been a crazy year and I think I can safely say “bring on 2021”. It has brought many changes to our lives about the way we work, live and interact with others and we have had to be flexible and adapt. It is ‘change’ that we often resist because we have to move from the ‘known’ to the ‘unknown’. It is fear of the unknown which we can struggle with and I know that I have struggled with this fear.

My art workshops have been fewer and a little different this year and when I look back and see all art that my students have created my joy is restored! In particular, this year we’ve worked with an art notebook as well as tiles and that notebook has become a work of art in itself. So there is a natural progression for my workshops to evolve.

In 2021 I’m planning more art journaling, experimental printing, Zentangle workshops and retreats which will see new ways of bringing out people’s creativity.

So when I stop to reflect on 2020, I’ve had to learn to be even more flexible and look for creative ways to cope with new ways of living and I’m looking forward to sharing my journey…

Updated Class Schedule

We’ve just finished the 6 week Beyond the Basics class at St George & Sutherland Community College. Zentangle really does attract lovely groups of like-minded people (I know I keep saying it – but it’s true!). We went out for lunch after the last class which topped off the 6 weeks!

What’s next? I’ve just updated the Workshops page with the latest Class Schedule so have a look at what’s available for the rest of the year and January 2020. Labyrinths, 3Z Stars & Klimt inspired tiles to name a few.

I will be sending out an email by Monday 23/9/19 so if you don’t receive one and would like to, then please contact me on the Contact/Bookings page

Zendala Class

There were a lot of laughs, fun and friendships made this week at both the Zendala Classes. We didn’t quite finish the all tiles but you could post them here in the comments when they are finished, if you want. The tiles look amazing and each have their own individual style. I love them all!

The little succulent plant photo was taken on Saturday morning just outside my studio before the class started. When you look closely you can see some beautiful little dewdrops on the leaves. And the leaves are the perfect shape to add to mandalas. Nature is so perfect.

Zentangle Class – this Thursday 2nd May

There are spots available for the advanced class this Thursday. We’re going to explore a special string which will create a ‘circle in a Square’. I hope it will be a spring board to inspire you to take your creativity further.

Looking forward to seeing those who are booked in. If you’d like to join us or find out more information then contact me on the ‘bookings’ page of Artoftangling.com.

Zendala Class

As promised here is the demonstration tile from class – all finished! I spent quite some time ‘tweaking’ it. I followed Maria’s example and filled in all the spaces with little orbs. I’d love to see everyone’s tiles when they are finished. I had a lot of fun with this tile Rumpus is a really relaxing tangle
